#564 (Discharged)

Age 33 Male

Prince of Wales Hospital

Kennedy Town

The patient is engaged in IT work, has good past health and has no recent travel history. He developed fever and cough on Mar 23 and was discharged from hospital on April 15. On Aug 17, the CHP mentioned in a press conference that the patient had traveled to Spain via London between Aug 6 and 15, and had tested positive after arriving in Hong Kong. He was sent to the community testing facility in AsiaWorld Expo for further inspection. The genes in the patient's virus sample were different from the virus sample in March. The two samples belonged to different genomes. Therefore it was determined that the patient is the world's first known case of reinfection to COVID-19.
